Many believers no longer serve God because they misunderstood Scripture when it talks about trials.
It is vital that we correct this doctrine. We cannot move into Dominion and Apostolic impact until we get victory in this area of discouragement! We cannot demonstrate "the revealing of Christ in a people" when we are overcome with disappointment.
Sustaining genuine joy seems to be the hardest thing for believers to do. It slips away without realizing it. I have failed here many times.
But, the truth is: IF you and I fail here, you fail everywhere...
Discouragement lurks deceptively in the church and ministry. Then, it seems that God has hidden His face. It is a sin in the arena of emotions. We know that the heart is desperately wicked, loves to remember wrongs.
But... when that happens, our prayers go unanswered and we have no momentum in life.
John 16:33 insists, "These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. in the world you will have tribulation; but be of good CHEER, I have overcome the world." (NKJ)
Everyone has difficulties, it is a part of life. But, here is the command: Be of good cheer!
The Living Bible says, "Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows; but cheer up, for I have overcome the world."
The word "CHEER" (Strong's # 2293 tharseo (thar-seh'-o); from 2294) means to have courage, and to be happy).

When trouble comes (and it will) don't be shocked! Jesus has already overcome all things!
Life is often intensely difficult and what we don't want. But, like the famous saying goes, "IT IS NOT WHAT YOU'VE BEEN DEALT IN LIFE, BUT HOW YOU DEAL WITH WHAT IS DELT."
How do you react to trouble? Have courage!
In this series, we will look at the Book of James. James was the birth brother of Jesus, he was the President of Jerusalem Church, and probably the most well known person in the 1st century. Even Paul reported to him! Perhaps we should more carefully listen to what he says.
James 1:2-3 "My BRETHREN, Count it all JOY when you FALL into VARIOUS TRIALS."
BRETHREN = adelpho, this letter is addressed to those who were as close as brothers. These people were those of the twelve tribes who were scattered abroad (diaspora) and who had lost everything. They were in grave persecution, famine, and poverty.
James writes this letter specifically to those who were enduring great hardship -- and he says, "Count it all joy!"
COUNT = Scrutinize, appraise the situation, and make a conscious and deliberate decision to walk in JOY.
JOY is a Gift of the Spirit, it isn't about your feelings. CHOOSE IT.
Be realistic. Determine that things are not as they seem. Decide that this situation will be a reason for joy!
JOY is not an emotion but it is a spiritual force. The Greek word is charis, which means a calm delight, good cheer, and gladness of heart.
DO YOU HAVE REAL JOY?
I want you to make it to the finish line! IF you think for a minute that God has caused these difficulties, it is impossible for you to break free. It is mandatory that you know the nature of God is goodness. You will soon see that God didn't cause your problems!
The next blogs and newsletters will continue with a detailed explanation of WHAT this means and exactly HOW we can find real JOY!
