Redefining Discipleship

http://kluane.org

These days, lives are not changing like they should, mainly because we don't realize how much God loves us.

The problem wi th disciple ship of the past is that it tends to be rigid, lifeless, and often legalistic - it is not always applicable to today's needs. We talk about being "new," but present the old - over and over again. Discipleship is not about a bunch of inflexible laws that you "can't do" anymore -- Don't cut your hair, don't wear short sleeves, doAngry Godn't go here, or don't say this or that. Pray this long, fast here.

In fact, discipleship has become a dreaded concept! "Oh no! Not that again!" It demands unflinching obedience. But, the Good News shows us that it just isn't about having to DO something else -- putting another notch in our belt by getting another "convert" who will go to a lot of meetings, or feeling guilty for not praying for really long times. Oftentimes, some people make us feel that Christianity is just a severe obligation and a ruthless burden to please an angry God. Many believers are not maximizing their lives because they have not fully allowed this discipleship process to bring them into Christ-likeness.

Most are in such a habit of doubting or contradicting the promptings of the Lord, that they automatically dismiss what is spoken. I had a pastor friend who told me he wasn't going to pray about certain things, because he would only have to DO them!

Achieving Biblical discipleship in this New Day demands more.

Lives are supposed to change. The bottom line is that the Holy Spirit comes into your life to CHANGE YOU and lead you into your destiny path. He won't do that against your will! You choose to allow the Divine act of intervention. Discipleship should delightfully usher the Body into becoming the emerging Bride.

We can only fully surrender to discipleship when we know we are loved. Jesus gave Himself as a sacrificial offering for the CHURCH and charged apostles to protect His precious Bride until He, as the Bridegroom, returns for Her.

He totally loves her.

That's why the Church is supposed to lead believers into becoming the glorious image and LIKENESS of Christ. What an opportunity! We are supposed to be containers of His splendor and Glory.

This is absolutely glorious! What an opportunity to be delivered to the world as His crowning achievement.
Whatever your end time belief may be, this consistent truth remains. Jesus returns for His Bride who is spotless (Eph. 5:27).

  • Even the animal sacrifices were to be without spot or blemish (Ex. 12:5). Spots and blemishes are an affliction on the flesh of the physical BODY - that are EXTERNAL and are caused by something being wrong INTERNALLY.
  • A spotted and wrinkled Bride is never teachable or correctable, and cannot cooperate in a TEAM because she strives in competitive immature jealousy and discontent.
  • Pure religion keeps us unspotted from the world (James 1:27).
  • Spots can come from deep inside will come to the surface, just like leprosy (Lev. 13:2). Spots are on the FLESH, representing those who are false teachers, uncleanness, being self-willed, presumptuous, those who speak evil, riotous, beguilers, and those who have gone astray, (2 Pet. 2:1, 12-15).
  • A wrinkle comes from aging FLESH that causes an alteration of the original appearance to look like someone else. Wrinkles can be ironed out!
  • Song of Solomon 4:7 "Thou art all fair, my love; there is no spot in thee."
Loving discipleship heals the spots by love! It is possible!

What would help cure those spots? The first part of that verse is, "Husbands, LOVE your wives, and wash them with the WORD (that there be no spots)." Well, like with many brides, many believers don't realize that they are loved, prized, cherished, and adored. The Word of God reveals it! When she is "washed," she understands that her value causes her to become "holy and without blemish.

  • "Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That you might be blameless and harmless... without rebuke [RSV: without blemish; NKJV: without fault; YLT: unblemished]... among whom ye shine as lights in the world" (Phil. 2:14-15).
  • Pure religion keeps us unspotted from the world (James 1:27).
  • "Be diligent that you may be found... without spot, and blameless" (2 Peter 3:14).

  • "Now unto Him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless [RSV: without blemish; YLT: unblemished, unspotted] before the presence of his glory..." (Jude 1:24).

Discipleship leads a willing Bride into maximizing her life. We see that the once dreaded concept of "discipleship," now simply becomes the way to get onto the path and cooperate with the phenomenal destiny God has planned for us.
The gospel of the kingdom is the good news and discipleship is also good news!

Know this: God is enamored, enchanted, ravished, astonished, fascinated, captivated, enthralled, delighted, spellbound, obsessed, mesmerized, and exhilarated WITH YOU!

He has already given YOU power & authority to create -- in your world, to determine your future. Just go ahead and bless others with His favor!

The church cannot fulfill her purpose here on earth without attentive, conscientious, and effectively loving Apostolic discipleship.

True leaders love without any other motive or agenda.
Just love others.

Count it all Joy #2

Posted by: Dr. Kluane

Dr. Kluane

DO YOU POSSES TRUE JOY?
In our last newsletter, we’ve discussed the mandate of existing in JOY. You and I cannot go into Dominion and Apostolic impact until we win this battle of disappointment! We can not show “the revealing of Christ in human beings” when we are overtaken by issues. Present Truth demands joy.

Usually, the Church appears to be very confused! It is imperative to understand the concept of God is goodness. You will find as we progress in this study, that God did NOT create your issues! Nor did HE allow them!

I really want you to reach the finish line! But... IF you think for a second that God is the cause of your problems, it is impossible for you to progress. James addresses this letter particularly to people who were experiencing severe hardship – and he declares, “Count it all joy!”

I don’t know about you…but that ALL word makes this a challenging order for me. No matter how hard the circumstance,

COUNT = This word count is what you have to do! Make a CONSCIOUS decision to evaluate, look into the situation, and make a deliberate choice to walk in JOY.

JOY is an offering of the Spirit; it isn’t about your feelings. It is a choice. In the middle of betrayal, or right when you’ve lost it all. Particularly when you don’t feel like doing it…

Choose to walk in JOY

Be sensible. Determine that things are not as they appear to be. Determine that this circumstance will be a cause for joy!
JOY is not a feeling -- yet it is a spiritual energy. It is the Greek term charis that means a peaceful delight, good cheer and happiness of heart. Joy is simple to read about. Simple to preach about. And, challenging to truly apply. Disappointment takes away your joy.

DO YOU TRULY POSSES REAL JOY? This is an concept of having to “eat the Word.”
Most absence of joy comes from disbelief and self-centeredness. Yikes! That is painful.

  • ·I lose my joy whenever I am not treated the way I would like to be treated.
  • ·When things don’t go the way I want them to.
  • ·When I am overly concerned about what I want.
  • When someone decides to do something they want to do and I don’t.

Disappointment is a WELL-KNOWN FRIEND. It draws us into that place we’ve always known. It lures us into the PAST and other pains that reside there. It makes us rationalize our emotions. I’ve been hurt in the past. Pastors hurt me. Friends left me. My mom and dad were mean (or whatever).

Certainly, the LORD offers us a better answer! We compete in the race with joy. Hey, it is better than fainting! It is likely that this is the reason that numerous past revivals were filled with laughter. Are we crazy? Is it all “in the flesh?” No…just restoring hope in Christ just like at the start. Joy takes our mind off our issues.

Our contemporary church is similar to a shaken soda pop – there is fizz everywhere and then it  all goes flat! Their happiness hinges on what happens, positive or negative. Keep in mind, that the early church martyrs considered it a privilege to be burned to death as human torches that illuminated Nero's garden celebrations.

Joy is that option that takes the stress off you. You can toss that mountain into the ocean - if you let it go! Let God heal your pain. Jesus resides within us and He has overcome all. So…be happy!

Joy is the expression of faith that eliminates sadness and disappointment.

Ask again, “Have I truly submitted everything to God?” Is He the Master of my life? Can I surrender my life yet again? Lay myself on the altar and give up everything? What is God dealing with me about?

Face yourself. Listen to His voice. Submit. Trust God. Make appropriate decisions. JOY SHOWS FAITH!

James 1:2-3 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials.

The next articles and newsletters will carry on with an elaborate explanation of WHAT this signifies and precisely HOW we can achieve true JOY!

The Promise Center Church Message

We've been talking about the GOD OF THE NOW and the HOW! His unspeakable name was YHHW. The ever expanding and ever revealing God of covenant.

Jehovah is God with many revelations - He is Nissi, Rapha, Jireh.

God becomes WHO we need WHEN WE PERCEIVE IT!

That perception can only be in the NOW. Today, you can not perceive Him yesterday. Tomorrow, God will expand.

The main problem in the Church today is that we do not perceive God in the NOW. He tells us HOW in His Word.

Overcoming means we get past discouragement and doubt.
Dis-couragement = lack of courage. lack of confidence.

Anybody can preach about discouragement, and still have it themselves. They can spit and holler and still be discouraged.

1 Kings 19 tell about about the great man of faith, Elijah, he was God's great servant... and he became discouraged.

After a tremendous victory over priests of Baal, the Queen tried to kill him. He ran for his life. Elijah was discouraged. He wanted to die!

Discouragement only come to people. No animal gets discouraged. Humans can become vulnerable when their limits are exceeded or when they become  emotional burned out.

Things didn't turn out the way Elijah expected. People didn't say what he wanted or needed. God didn't do what he wanted.

Does that sound familiar. Do you have a pre-determined script that you expect God to do or say. How about other people? Do you get discouraged because someone does not know your script?

Discouragement takes you out of the NOWness of God.

Count It ALL Joy!

A Continued Study in the Book of James

Dr. Kluane Spake

Many believers no longer serve God because they misunderstood Scripture when it talks about trials.

It is vital that we correct this doctrine. We cannot move into Dominion and Apostolic impact until we get victory in this area of discouragement!  We cannot demonstrate "the revealing of Christ in a people" when we are overcome with disappointment.

Sustaining genuine joy seems to be the hardest thing for believers to do. It slips away without realizing it. I have failed here many times.

But, the truth is: IF you and I fail here, you fail everywhere...

Discouragement lurks deceptively in the church and ministry. Then, it seems that God has hidden His face. It is a sin in the arena of emotions. We know that the heart is desperately wicked, loves to remember wrongs.

But... when that happens, our prayers go unanswered and we have no momentum in life.

John 16:33 insists, "These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. in the world you will have tribulation; but be of good CHEER, I have overcome the world." (NKJ)

Everyone has difficulties, it is a part of life. But, here is the command: Be of good cheer!

The Living Bible says, "Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows; but cheer up, for I have overcome the world."

The word "CHEER" (Strong's # 2293 tharseo (thar-seh'-o); from 2294) means to have courage, and to be happy).

When trouble comes (and it will) don't be shocked! Jesus has already overcome all things!

Life is often intensely difficult and what we don't want. But, like the famous saying goes, "IT IS NOT WHAT YOU'VE BEEN DEALT IN LIFE, BUT HOW YOU DEAL WITH WHAT IS DELT."

How do you react to trouble? Have courage!

In this series, we will look at the Book of James. James was the birth brother of Jesus, he was the President of Jerusalem Church, and probably the most well known person in the 1st century. Even Paul reported to him! Perhaps we should more carefully listen to what he says.

James 1:2-3 "My BRETHREN, Count it all JOY when you FALL into VARIOUS TRIALS."

BRETHREN = adelpho, this letter is addressed to those who were as close as brothers. These people were those of the twelve tribes who were scattered abroad (diaspora) and who had lost everything. They were in grave persecution, famine, and poverty.

James writes this letter specifically to those who were enduring great hardship -- and he says, "Count it all joy!"

COUNT = Scrutinize, appraise the situation, and make a conscious and deliberate decision to walk in JOY.

JOY is a Gift of the Spirit, it isn't about your feelings. CHOOSE IT.

Be realistic. Determine that things are not as they seem. Decide that this situation will be a reason for joy!

JOY is not an emotion but it is a spiritual force. The Greek word is charis, which means a calm delight, good cheer, and gladness of heart.

DO YOU HAVE REAL JOY?

I want you to make it to the finish line!  IF you think for a minute that God has caused these difficulties, it is impossible for you to break free. It is mandatory that you know the nature of God is goodness.  You will soon see that God didn't cause your problems!

The next blogs and newsletters will continue with a detailed explanation of WHAT this means and exactly HOW we can find real JOY!

"But the saints of the Most High shall receive the kingdom and possess the kingdom forever, even forever and ever." Dan. 7:18
