On October 31, out of love for the truth, the Priest and Reverend Father Martin Luther, Master of Arts and Sacred Theology, and lecturer at Wittenberg, nailed his 95 Theses upon the door of the Wittenburg church. These statements stood against the current trends of the church and pronounced truths. The church of today has greatly benefited from Martin Luther’s efforts. As the Third Day Church, we can now both use and now update his ideas.... By faith Noah built an ark to save his family... (Heb. 11:7). What was needed to keep that ark secure?? He coated the ark inside and out with PITCH. (Gen. 6:14-16 NIV). The word that means "to cover with pitch" is "kaphar," OT:3722; a primitive root which meant in this instance, to cover. In much the same way, we understand that the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ covers us inside and out (Mt. 26:28; 1 Cor. 10:16; Jn. 6:53-56, & 1 Jn. 1:6-9). Have you noticed how much of the church world has gotten pretty dim these days. Not much light to be found in a lot of places. What with all the control, posturing, jealousy, ambition at the platform - not to mention, the immorality and indecent behavior! The darkness of evil falsity and increasing lack of values savagely tries to extinguish all the radiance of the Church. We must open our spiritual eyes to see what really exists, not what our senses and feelings tell us. No longer should we strive toward equality -- it's not an issue -- it just IS. It was only after David perceived himself to be king (which he had legally been since a teenager), that 1 Chronicles says he obtained victory at Baal Perizim (14:11). One day it dawned on David that he already held the position and authority of that royal office. When he finally "perceived" it, then God was able to break through like water from a pent-up dam. Suddenly we realize our purpose we’ve been building a new house within ourselves. The book of Hebrews progressively discusses our Godly house... As we consider the reality of becoming the NEW CREATION, we begin to comprehend that Jesus shed His untainted BLOOD (the life of the flesh, Lev. 17:11) to ATONE for our sins. And He gave His LIFE (psuche, sinless soul-life) for our salvation (sozo, wholeness, Rom. 5:21). We could think of it this way: The blood accomplishes our initial (or positional) atonement from sin. But... it is His LIFE that accomplishes our ongoing progressive sozo which provides wholeness of mind and character. I was singing under my breath and looking out the airplane window -- there the island of Saint Thomas, Virgin Islands approached in the distance to my left. I meditated about what the Lord would have me minister while there… and then, I saw this sight: A new determination has come upon me to recapture the sense of God’s abiding presence. There are many of us who long to reconnect in significant and passionate ways. We “know” that it's time to breathe that fresh air and recaptivate that once familiar awe and wonder -- the amazement that He ever lives IN us. He (the consummation of all things) inhabits us and ever intercedes for us... that we might find Truth. Last Sunday was clear and hot – not a cloud in the sky. The windows of the church were open to let the beauty of the Bahamas inside. I was there to preach that day… as they began to sing, “And You are great, You do miracles so great…” Soon a gentle breeze began to blow across the banners in front of the open One day, I understood this event as pedagogy -- a female insight to the Bride of Christ. Like Ezekiel, this had happened so that I could understand a greater truth of what was happening to the HAND – the representation of the Fivefold ministry. The fingernail represents the visible part of the ministry that is presented.
