I’VE BEEN BORN AGAIN – AGAIN!

It all started only a few years ago. I began to tell my friends, “I’ve been “Born-again, again.” And it was really true! Things were different. I was not the same.

After the privilege of being a senior pastor for fifteen years, this personal change was unexpected. Yet now, this new dimensional perception and reality of who Christ is and who we are in Him has enlarged within me. This is what happened…

Awhile back, I decided that it was time to quit pastoring and move to the states. There was great sadness in leaving, but also there were big plans and exciting future hopes. Sooooo, we packed up a 40ft. container (13 ft. high) with all belongings. We even brought our car – which was heavily braced for the ocean trip. Let me tell you, every inch of that container was filled with my precious belongings. Every nook and cranny of that car was stuffed with lamps and breakable items. The dining room table was disassembled and shoved under the car! We brought my files cabinets full of old talks and tapes. Countless boxes were piled from floor to ceiling.

What happened, when we arrived in the new location, was that I looked inside all those boxes. “Why,” I wondered, “Why, did I bring all this stuff?” Lots of it had no use to me anymore – yet, my sentimentality had ruled. All neatly packed away were watches that no longer worked. Socks that didn’t match. One shoe. Ten year old (out of date) clothes. Oppps. There’s just one ear-ring!

As Christians we are much like that too. We want to drag along our favorite doctrines and the things we love the most. They are emotional sentiments and theologies that just won’t work anymore. We want to bring into this new moment of the arising “church” our old cherished mementos… the fragrance we found in worship, our old charts of endtimes, the emotional “feelings” from shouting sermons, the techniques we used, the joy of the River flowing, and the ol’ familiar doctrines and traditions. They were wonderful – but they are of the past.

While trying to sort my boxes, the Lord pressed me with the words, “You will move on as soon as you unpack and deal with the last box.” It’s all about being unencumbered and moving to the next dimension of revelation. God has lots more to say than we can ever imagine.

Surely, the Lord is doing a whole new thing (Is. 43:19). Do we perceive it? Do we know that it’s true? And will we heed it?

I knew something had happened to me when all the Scriptures I had always known and quoted, suddenly shouted out with totally new significance. Scriptures were literally bursting forth with whole new meaning and purpose. That new present Truth had been there all along… but, my awareness had changed to comprehend it. Unexpectedly, all the outlines of talks that had been carefully transported in those file cabinets were now meaningless. Almost everything that I had taught with well intentioned and sincere insight now were superseded by better understanding. The proceeding Word came to change my thoughts. It changed my emotions, changed my leadership style, and changed my life.

We must come to the place of open hands not clutching onto anything we think we understand too dearly. We must realize that we really know almost nothing of the vastness of eternal revelation. Jehovah God (the EVER REVEALING God of Covenant) still waits to reveal Himself as the God of this very moment. He’s moving us to a new location and new truths we’ve never before imagined await our investigation.

Many of us have “lived” in the same doctrines and limited dimensions for a long time. The 16th and 17th century church felt that those who dared enquire into the unexplored nature of the Spirit trespassed onto the province of God’s holy and unapproachable domain, which was beyond all human enquiry. And so here we are today, daring to begin to reach out and find greater realities of the spiritual dimension. We delight in the mysteries that re-awaken our longings as we take a new and insightful look .

We’re like the two blind men who cried out to Jesus (Matt. 20:33), “Lord, that our eyes may be opened.” Sometimes, we just can’t comprehend those new dimensions – even though we’re right inside of them. The Spirit realm has no limits and is ever before us. Yet, most of us have problems discerning it.

We’re limited by our experience, our theology, our pre-conceived mindsets. We understand with a partially un-regenerated mind. We’ve packed up and taken along our own fixed boundaries, misconceptions about God, limits concerning the privilege of believers, fear of being different, and misunderstandings about differences in people.

But, the fact remains that there are further unknown territories and mysterious hidden concepts that must be made known. Some may ask how we can know for certain that there are fresh new panoramas of reality to SEE? The more we experience God, the more we understand that He has woven Himself within nature to a much grander design than we realized. This complex order in the universe cannot be explained. Think about how dogs and birds hear higher frequencies that we can hear. Porpoise and dolphins hear sounds well beyond our discernment. Elephants make sounds at lower levels than we hear. These sounds are still there even though we don’t perceive them. What about magnetism or gravity? Germs, atoms, and micro-organisms? These unseen concepts are not a fairyland delusion. Likewise, it’s not LaLa Land to believe in spiritual forces and realities beyond our perception (1 Cor. 2:9-10).

Recently, scientists were trying to find quarks... and finally located them where they were looking. They just “appeared.” Amazed astronomers, looking for new galaxies, found them where they were looking! Matter seems to correspond and behave in ways that can be controlled by our expectations. Light, sound, and color have recently been found to have phenomenal direct correlations with one another.

Humans visually perceive three percent of the entire light wave spectrum. Therefore, we cannot deny the reality of something just because we co not see it. What we perceive as light and sound are actually the same type of energy, yet with different frequencies, manifesting differently. There are limitless spectrums we can’t perceive without external help. For example: Infrared frequencies (IR), Ultra violet light (UV), X-rays, Gamma rays, Cosmic rays. Sound waves: Sub-audible frequencies, Audio frequencies (sound waves), Ultra sound, Ultrasonic frequencies (UF), High frequencies (HF), Very high frequencies (VHF like old TV sets), Ultra high frequencies (UHF), Super high frequencies (SHF), and Extremely high frequencies, (EHF) etc.

In this natural place we live, we know about three dimensions of measurements: length, breath (width) and thickness (height). Paul prayed that we might be able to comprehend …what is the width and length and depth and height of the love of Christ (Eph. 3:18-19). Here Paul stretches our comprehension so that we might understand that “Love” (until now a totally abstract principle) can be measured as a solid form in the spiritual realm.

What we generally call ‘reality’ usually defines only a small portion of what could be perceived through our natural senses. Our ‘reality’ of Who Christ is and who we are in Christ has only slightly been tapped. As we “move” from one dimension to another (glory to glory 2 Cor. 3:18), we grasp more and more of THE REALITY... that which we have not yet begun to perceive until we are BORN AGAIN -- AGAIN.
